We have been buying coffees form the CODECH coop for 3 years now and have been incredibly impressed with the quality of coffee they are producing overall. That being said, this is our first time working with a microlot from an individual members farm and we couldn't be happier with the outcome. Gaspar takes all the intricacies we love of the COOP and take it to the next level with a incredibly articulate yet deeply sweet cup.
CODECH is an organization that is centered in the municipality of Concepion Huista in Huehuetenango Guatemala focusing on sustainable alternative development programs in the region. With a heavy focus on participation of women in society and the workforce they engage in a variety of capacities including organic farming workshops, agriculture workshop, teacher development workshops, women rights and gender equality, self esteem, leadership, household development, and medical attention. This well rounded approach seems to be working because this group is producing some of the sweetest and delightful coffee I've seen from the region in quite a while. If you are in search of a deeply sweet and rich coffee that is sure to please this is the one for you.
